Welcome to the Gaskell Memorial Hall, Silverdale, Lancashire.
The Gaskell Hall was opened in 1931 and is named after Elizabeth Gaskell, the novelist who regularly stayed in the village.
We have two main rooms that can be booked for a variety of activities and is used regularly by village and other groups for many events such as, yoga, pilates, Saturday coffee mornings, Village Players productions, line-dancing, country-dancing, badminton, W.I, private parties, lectures, concerts, public meetings etc.
Main Hall - This can be used for Coffee Mornings, Parties, Dances, Community Cinema, Play productions and any other private functions you may wish to hold, the sprung floor is perfect for dancing! Seating and tables for up to 200. Music system with Bluetooth, USB and Audio Jack connections,also with radio mic and hand held mic.
New to the hall is a ceiling wash lightining system to give special effects for your event.
Rigby Kitchen is located in the Main Hall with Instanta, Kettles, Mircowave, Fridge. Cultery, plates, beer pump and glasses can be hired for only a security deposit. White Table linen also available.
Green Room - This can be used for conferences, meetings and smaller private functions. Seating for up to 40. Kitchen facilities include a Fridge, Mircowave, Kettle, Instanta and Oven.
The Gaskell Hall, Silverdale has disabled accessible toilet facilities with a wheel chair lift between the two floors.

The hall can provide many items to assist with your event , please see the extra facilitles below:
White table cloths - hire charge of £65 for full set 12 small tables and 10 large tables (to cover dry cleaning bill) if using less amount of cloths bill will be less.
Set of dinner plates in either red or green or both, no hire charge £20 refundable deposit once returned.
Full set of cutlery for approx 80 people.
Beer pump and glass hire.

SAT 10th November "PALS"
Silver dale Village Players present'Pals' will be performing to commemorate the end of World War I.
A performance in prose, poetry and song telling the story of the Accrington, Barnsley and Sheffield ‘Pals’ Battalion.
Starting at 7pm for 7.30pm.
There is only one performance and tickets will cost £10. They will go on sale in the newsagents on Saturday October 27th.
All profits will be donated to the Royal British Legion.

Wed 5th - Sat 8th DEC -"SCROOGE"
This year's Panto is 'Scrooge - the Pantomime', by Andrew Winfield.
It will be performed on Wednesday to Saturday 5-8 December. This year it will be 'theatre seating' on Wednesday and Thursday, and 'Cabaret' style on the Friday and Saturday.
Tickets will be £10 for adults and £5 for children on Wednesday and Thursday, and £10 for all on Friday and Saturday - no concessions.
Tickets will be on sale in the Newsagents from Saturday 10 November at 10.00am.
