Gaskell Memorial Hall

The hall will be open from Monday 21st Sept, please email bookingsgaskellhall@gmail.com for more info.

GASKELL HALL RE-OPENING

We have worked hard to get the hall back up and running, and following government guidance to ensure we do everything we can to maintain a safe environment for hall users, our staff and ourselves.

Before activities can resume, we are required to draw up a Covid Secure risk assessment, which we are currently working on, and which will be shared with users intending to hire the hall. Our caretaker is working with us to develop our cleaning and hygiene practices to satisfy the latest requirements.

We are reviewing official guidance as it becomes available and endeavouring to keep up to date in a rapidly changing situation. The updated guidance for community centres has yet to be published.

Our regular users will be consulted, to ensure that their use of the hall as safe as can reasonably be achieved. This is all about minimizing risks - it is impossible to eliminate them entirely, but we have to keep our vulnerable community at the forefront of our plans.

Some activities are unlikely to be able to re-start any time soon – either because of social distancing impracticalities or because the demographics of the group makes them uneasy about starting back up.

We hope that we will continue to enjoy the support of our Village as we all work towards the goal of becoming fully functional once again.
